Terms of use

This is a translation provided for convenience. If it differs from the Spanish text, the Spanish text prevails.
By creating an account you accept these terms. Compamo puts people in touch to share the costs of a trip the driver was going to make anyway: it is not a transport company and the driver does not provide a professional service.
Who can use Compamo
- People aged 18 or over who have verified their identity. One account per person, in their own name.
- To drive: a valid driving licence, a car with compulsory insurance and an up-to-date roadworthiness test (ITV), and a payout account with Stripe.
Sharing costs, never making money
- The price per seat cannot exceed the cost of the trip shared among all occupants: (kilometres × €0.26 + tolls) ÷ (seats offered + 1), rounded down to €0.50. The app calculates it and does not allow it to be exceeded.
- The minimum price per seat is €1; below that, the ride is offered for free.
- All payments go through Compamo. Asking for or accepting money outside the app is prohibited.
Bookings and payments
- You can book up to 60 days ahead. Booking is instant or, if the driver chooses, by request: the amount is only held on your card and the driver has 12 hours to answer (or until departure, if sooner). If they do not answer or decline, the hold is released.
- You pay the seat price plus a service fee of 12% of that price, with a minimum of €1, VAT included. Free rides have no service fee.
- The driver receives the full seat price in their bank account 24 hours after the trip. Compamo charges the driver no commission.
Cancellations
| Who cancels and when | What the passenger gets back |
|---|---|
| The passenger, within 30 minutes of booking or more than 48 hours before departure | Everything |
| The passenger, between 48 and 24 hours before | The seat price, without the service fee |
| The passenger, less than 24 hours before | Half the seat price |
| The passenger, after departure | Nothing |
| The driver, at any time | Everything |
- If the passenger has not turned up 15 minutes after the pickup time, the driver can mark them as a no-show and receives the seat price.
- Cancelling rides that have bookings, especially at the last minute, can lead to a sanction.
- As a transport service on a specific date, there is no 14-day right of withdrawal (art. 103.l of the Spanish General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users); the cancellation policy in this table applies.
Community rules
- Respectful behaviour, without harassment or discrimination; punctuality; nothing illegal in the car; respect for traffic rules.
- No sharing contact details before the booking is paid.
- Women-only rides are for drivers and passengers whose ID says they are women.
- Ratings can be left up to 14 days after the trip, must be honest and are moderated before they are published.
Reports, sanctions and appeals
- You can report any person or listing from the app; the other person does not learn who reported them. We will tell you whether action was taken, never what.
- The team can warn, suspend an account for up to 90 days or close it, and always explains the reasons to the person concerned.
- You can appeal a sanction once, within the following 6 months, from the app. It is reviewed by a different person from the one who decided it.
- During a suspension you can sign in, see and cancel your trips, report and appeal, but not offer, book, message or rate.
Liability
- Each ride is an agreement between the driver and their passengers. The driver is responsible for the driving and the condition of the car; the car's compulsory insurance covers the occupants.
- Compamo is responsible for running the platform with due diligence, verifying everyone's identity and handling payments and refunds as these terms say.
- Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
Maps
- On Android, the app's map is Google Maps: by using it you also accept the Google Maps Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. On iPhone, the map is Apple Maps.
Changes, applicable law and complaints
- We will let you know in the app 15 days in advance of any significant change. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before it takes effect.
- Spanish law applies. If you are a consumer, the courts of your place of residence have jurisdiction.
- For any complaint, write to us from Help or at the contact email.
